PI Coin Faces 7% Drop as Pi Network’s Node Count Claims Draw Scrutiny
PI coin experienced a 7% decline amid growing skepticism about the Pi Network's reported node count. Currently trading at $0.4573, the token shows a modest 0.2% drop over 24 hours, but investor concerns are focused on transparency issues rather than price volatility.
Pi Network's claim of 400,000 active nodes across its ecosystem appears questionable upon closer examination. Only 114 nodes are operational on the mainnet, where actual transactions take place, while the rest exist on testnets used for development without mining incentives.
Testnet participation remains notably low in major markets. Vietnam demonstrates just 0.9% activity among its 918,000 nodes, while South Korea shows slightly better engagement at 24.8%. These statistics raise significant concerns about the network's credibility and adoption rates.
